Insulation

Quality of installation is a crucial element in the effectiveness of insulation, whatever the insulation product and whatever the circumstance. Our technicians have years of experience in a variety of insulation types, a depth of expertise in how insulation works, and a commitment to quality installation during every project.

We work with building contractors during new construction projects as well as additions, renovations and remodels; and with homeowners during energy retrofits, weatherization projects and wall and attic insulation installations. We also offer a variety of products -- so whether your priorities are reduced environmental impact, energy performance, lower utility bills or maximum comfort, we're happy to work with our clients to determine the most effective products and processes for maximum impact and best price.

Cellulose Insulation

Blown in cellulose is a highly effective, environmentally friendly insulation solution. Made from recycled newspaper and treated with borate for fire retardant benefits, the even distribution of blown in cellulose insulation makes for a high performance insulation that has come into increasing favor among green builders and building energy efficiency experts.

A few reasons we like blown in cellulose insulation:

Environmentally Friendly.

Cellulose is made from recycled newspaper, so it's an earth-friendly insulation solution. You can also rest assured that it's a safe product to have in your house -- no formaldehyde, no harmful chemicals.

Consistent High Performance.

Because cellulose is blown into cavities as small particles rather than installed in batt form, it's far less likely to come with gaps and air leaks around the edges. This means that you get consistent high performance - for a cozier, more energy efficient home.

Fire Retardant.

Cellulose is treated with the flame retardant borate, which is highly effective at slowing down the spread of fires. A house that is insulated with blown in cellulose insulation is safer from a fire-hazard standpoint than an uninsulated house.

Spray Foam Insulation

Spray foam insulation is a state-of-the-art insulation product that dramatically increases a home's thermal performance. With a superior R-value and unmatched air sealing capabilities, it reduces air leakage while providing the best thermal performance of any insulation product on the market.

High R-Value

Spray polyurethane foam has an R-value (thermal resistance) of approximately 6 per inch of installed insulation, making it one of the highest performance insulation products on the market. This means that your home will be warmer, and less drafty, even in conventionally framed construction.

Air Sealing

Spray polyurethane foam fills all the cracks and gaps within the cavities that it fills, avoiding the common problem of air leakage that plagues other types of insulation such as fiberglass batts. This reduces drafts, and prevents infiltration of moisture and harmful gases.

Reduces Moisture and Mold

Because of the superior air sealing properties of SPF (spray polyurethane foam), moisture is less likely to enter your building once it's been insulated with spray foam. This reduces the risk of mold, as well as the risks of rot and structural damage that accompany water infiltration.

Open Cell Foam and Closed Cell Foam

We offer both open cell and closed cell spray foam products. Closed cell provides a superior air and moisture barrier, making it the most effective insulation available for energy performance. Open cell spray foam is a more affordable option that still provides an air sealing capacity and an R-value that supersede nearly every other insulation product on the market.
